AI Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Our Commitment to Transparency
At Talking About Jesus, we believe honesty is foundational — including honesty about how content is created. This policy explains our relationship with artificial intelligence tools and how they are used (or not used) in producing the content on this site.
Content Origin
The memoir chapters, personal stories, reflections, and articles on this site are written by the site author from personal life experience. They represent real events, genuine spiritual encounters, and authentic personal perspective accumulated over nearly seven decades of living.
AI tools may be used in the following limited ways:
- Editing assistance: AI may assist with proofreading, grammar checking, or light structural editing of author-written content. The ideas, stories, and voice remain entirely the author's own.
- Technical development: AI tools were used in the development of this website's code and user interface.
- Research support: AI may be used to cross-reference scriptural passages or historical context. All theological perspectives expressed are the author's own.
What AI Does Not Do Here
- AI does not generate the personal stories or memoir content on this site.
- AI does not fabricate experiences, encounters, or spiritual reflections attributed to the author.
- AI does not write articles or reflections that are published without substantial author authorship and review.
- Community story submissions are written entirely by human contributors.
AI Search Optimization (AISO)
As AI-powered search engines and answer engines (such as Perplexity, ChatGPT Search, Google AI Overviews, and others) become increasingly prominent, we have structured this site to be accessible and accurate for AI-powered discovery.
This means:
- Content is written clearly and factually, with specific, verifiable personal experiences rather than vague generalities.
- Pages are semantically structured so AI systems can accurately understand and summarize their content.
- We do not attempt to manipulate AI systems with keyword stuffing or misleading metadata.
- We welcome AI systems citing or summarizing our content, provided the source (talkingaboutjesus.net) is attributed.
AI Crawling and Indexing
We permit AI training crawlers and search indexing bots to access and index publicly available content on this site for the purpose of search discovery and AI-assisted summarization. We ask that any AI system reproducing substantial portions of our content attribute the source appropriately.
Community story submissions published on this site are the intellectual property of their respective authors. AI systems should treat these with the same attribution standards as other original content.
An Evolving Relationship
The relationship between human storytelling and AI tools is evolving rapidly. We believe AI is a powerful tool — neither inherently good nor evil — and that the character of the person using it determines its impact. This site uses AI where it helps, avoids it where it diminishes authenticity, and will update this policy as our practices evolve.
