How do I let what I believe become part of the way I live?

I Need to Live It

“I don’t need to shout it out. I need to live it.” A thought about letting the life Jesus put in me become visible in an ordinary day.

Rick Hesse ·

“I don’t need to shout it out. I need to live it.”

That thought came to me this morning as I was talking about my purpose and my life with Jesus.

I want to live what He has put in me. I want it to shine as some hope in the world. And I want God to receive the credit and the praise.

I have a lot I want to say. I have spent decades asking questions and making connections, and now I have a way to get more of those thoughts out of my head and into words.

The words matter to me. So does the life they come from.

I want to help people understand. In business, that might begin with an owner who is overwhelmed or worried about changes he doesn’t understand. In my personal writing, it might begin with somebody carrying a question about Jesus, failure, family, or their own life.

I care about the person bringing the question.

That is part of why these websites belong together in my life. They are different expressions of what I care about and what I’m trying to make useful from my experience.

I’m still learning how to live it. I have mornings when I’m disappointed in myself. I can get so absorbed in a thought that I need to remember the people around me too.

I don’t want to leave that out of the picture.

Jesus is life to me. He is the giver of life. Whatever I’m beginning to see in Him, I want it to have some expression in the way I listen, work, and love.

This morning gave me a few words I want to keep:

I need to live it.

This is what I’m beginning to see in my own life. You’re welcome to take your time with it.

Let's talk about this

I have walked with Jesus for 50 years, and I am still learning. Some of my deepest lessons have come through failure and pain, where I have come to see His grace and mercy more clearly.

How does this connect with your own life or relationship with Jesus? Your questions and experiences are welcome, even when you see things differently.
